Android 14 QPR1 Beta: Features & Availability

This month, Google launched the stable version of Android 14 along with the Pixel 8 line of devices. The tech giant has released the first Quarterly Platform Release beta (QPR1) of Android 14 to Pixel phones, for the Pixel hardware presentation on September 20, 2023. Three months after its release, a stable version of Android 14 QPR1 Beta, if previous Google releases are any guide. According to reports, the most recent update brings the battery charge cycle count for Pixel phones.

Version U1B1.230908.003 of the build comes with the September 2023 security patch. Access to this update is available to those who signed up for the Android Beta Programme. All user data on the device will be erased in accordance with standard program rules if you choose to leave the program after installing Beta 1 or any subsequent upgrades. There will be an OTA “Downgrade” if you opt-out. Wait for the public release of Android 14 and ignore this upgrade.

Pixel 4a 5G and Pixel 5 devices are not eligible for Android QPR1 Beta1, and over the course of the next week, they will be automatically kicked out of the Android Beta program. They will also not be able to get today’s Android 14 QPR1 Beta 1 upgrade. Rather, when the public stable version of Android 14 becomes available, these devices will get it. Devices won’t be erased.
